Well I see that most of you guys got the 6000K sets, but what do you think about the 5000K set?

What I ordered:
35W 5000K 9006 (lows)
55W 5000K 9005 (highs)
35W 5000K 880 (fogs)

I'm putting 5000K in my Titan. 35W 6000K have a bluish hue to it and can attract more police attention than 5000Ks. 5000K is more straight white

I've liked my aftermarket projectors. I've had people flash me all the time w/ my stock headlights, Titans have bright lights stock and its a truck, so lower cars are going to think you have your highs on regardless. When they would flash me I would just flash them back indicating i had my lows on. Happens to me all the time when I drive our G20, its lowered so even some other cars at normal ride height look like they're blinding us w/ highs, but thats just the angle our car sits at in relation to other vehicles, so thats why i'm not "worried" about blinding people since its kind of relative to vehicle heights and angles.

HIDs ARE illegal in California tho. And not because cops say your lights are too bright, because its an alteration of the OEM lighting equipment which is pretty clearly explained in the California vehicle code. We got a ticket once with the code listed, and it wasnt because our lights were too bright. It was because they were bluish, which colored lighting is also a violation of vehicle codes. The only colors allowed by lights are the colors that are allocated to each function as per the OEM. Like orange turn signals, yellow fog lights, etc... You cant have yellow or orange headlights or even blue turn signals! Its all in the code. Blue replacement bulbs (non HID) are even illegal. Many people dont get busted and I dont think its a high priority on the police radar but just to clarify they ARE illegal, use at your own risk

If you search for my thread under my screen name, search for HIDs and it should pop up - I have photos that compare 8000k vs 6000k side by side, with a hologen by the HIDs

To save gas I drive my Escalade PowerWheels with a yellowtop car battery.

Yeah I did see that thread, and thanks, looks good!

I was just wondering how much of a difference there is between the 6K and the 5K.

In all honestly.. my photos arn't like seeing the difference in person, so I'll chime in to help ya out and give you an idea..

I compared 8k vs 6k. That's a 2k difference.. seeing them in person sidebyside, there wasn't that big of a difference. Both put out a near pure bright white center. The glare that surround on the ground (the shoulder of the road, the lane next to you) is where you see the blue tint in the 8k. The 6k bulbs have a very slight hint of blue, but you can still notice it there.

I personally think 5000k will have a very slight hint of blue, very slight, but I think the biggest notice you'll see is when you look at the headlight housing. If you want pure white I would think 4k would be white on the road, and your headlight housing.

It looks like ddmtuning.com only specializes in BMWs now. Did they stop selling HIDs for Titans?

Scroll down and click on either the Apexcone Raptor HID Kit (35w or 55w) or DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast (35W or 55W) then choose the correct bulb and color you want.
