OK, I figured I would write this out for all you out of towners:

Cigarettes should be purchased BEFORE entering the state, NJ has one of the highest taxes on cigarettes, a carton of Marlboro will run 58.00 here, while in Neighboring Delaware they are 28.00 per carton.

Beer is reasonable, a 30 pack of say Coors Light will run about 18.00, it depends on the store you go to.

There is NO SMOKING in any Inside Buildings in NJ this includes Bars and Clubs, but does exclude Casinos.

You can not make lefts turns like a normal state would allow, MOST roads have a Left Turn lane, but alot of the Highways have U-Turns or Jug Handles,.

If you enter a Circle (also called a roundabout) you should enter the outer ring, and stay there if you will be leaving the circle before you travel 1/2 way around, IF you are traveling 3/4 around, move to the inner ring, and move again to the outer ring when you get closer to your turn off, OR you can do what most New Jersey Folk do, and that is close your eyes, and turn when you hear the crunch. (praying does help!)

A WAWA is not a Tribal war Cry, it is a Conveinence store like a 7-11 but better, they have fresh food, and make fresh hoagies, (a hoagie is a lunchmeat sandwich on a long roll with Lettuce, tomato, onion) Everything is expensiver in a WAWA and since the populate almost every corner, you will come in contact with one.. (Editors Note: The Hoagies are much better after hours of Drinking, since they are the only ones open)

Gasoline is FULL SERVICE ONLY in NJ, you do not have to pump your own gas, and you will drive for many hours before you find a self service station, and Gas Jockeys take their Job seriously, IF you attempt to Pump your own Gas, you will get a Gutteral "YO!??"
You do not have to tip them, but they also do not have to accidently spill gasoline down the side of you vehicle, Tipping them will not stop this, but at least you paid for the pleasure.

IF you travel to Philadelphia because someone told you to Go to Pats or Ginos for a real Philly cheesesteak You must learn the Lingo:
Cheez Wit means a cheesesteak with cheez and Onions
Cheezwitout Means a Cheesesteak without Onions.
Da Works means you must be from out of town, and now someone will have to call you an ambulance because no one can survive that much cholesterol intake.

Philadelphia is a GREAT City, as long as you stay in the right Parts, the Right Parts are South Philly, where the stadiums are, South Philly where you see alot of shopping areas (IE: Oregon Ave, Delaware Ave) Center City is a nice historical place, but please watch your wallets, and small children, the natives will eat either.

If someone says "YO" to you, they are saying HI, you may have seen Rocky, and yes this is how people talk here, if youse don't like it, get outta here!

Philadelphia (Philly) Cheesesteak is a MUST while here, but you do not have to travel to Philly for this, South Jersey is like its own state, we are more Philly than New York, We hate the North Jersey People and they hate us.
You can get a good cheesesteak at most Pizza Places, but here are some reccomendations while in town:
Gaetanos makes a VERY Big Cheesesteak, it will feel like LEAD and drop to the bottom of your stomach, but it is delicious on the way down.
Blaises Deli makes a good cheesesteak
Verchicios make a good cheesesteak, these are all local to the meet, so if someone wanst to try one, let me know I will get you hooked up.

If you decide to travel to atlantic city, know this...
The casinos and the boardwalks are FAMOUS the city around them is not, well not for good stuff anyway!
Locks your doors, and if you feel uncomfortable, there is a reason.

You can not make any turns on a Bridge, if you stop to ask for directions, and some wiseguy tells you to go to top of da Walt Whitman and make a left, he is not serious.
If you do not heed the last warning, your seats are NOT floatation devices.

Da Shore is the Beach, if someone tells you to go down the shore, they are telling to you to go to the beach. The shore is not a road!

The AC Expressway is called an expressway for some unknown reason, if you travel this road to the shore, you will be sitting a long time, this is the most travelled road in NJ!

New Jersey has the Most People per square mile than almost any other state, and not only do they all drive cars, but they are mostly stupid too!
If you see a guy looking like he is going to turn in front of you, he probably will, and he will give you the number 1 sign to let you know he intended to do that. Don't take it personally, it has almost become a welcoming sign here, almost like a wave.

There are two pikes that go to the same place,
The Black Horse Pike, which goes from CAMDEN to Atlantic City and the White Horse Pike which goes from Camden to Atlantic City, while that may seem simple, they go two completely different routes.
WE are located on the Black Horse Pike, which is commonly refered to as Route 42, but here is where it gets confusing, Route 42 actually becomes a highway with limited exits, while Black Horse Pike takes you through some small towns, with shopping and traffic lights.

Camden, You do not need to go there, and if you do need to go there, you really don't need to go there! If was once the Murder Capital of the World, and they were proud of that!

That takes care of pretty much anything I can think of, if anyone wants to add something feel free!

Hey Jerseyparts, I should be coming up saturday. I'm down in Baltimore, MD. What is the best way to come up. Would it be 95 through Jersey, or should I come across the Del Mem and come up the Jersey Turnpike. Is there an exit off the Jersey Turnpike for BlackHorse Pike? Thanks for your help. Mapquest was kind of tangled looking to me to understand.

The New Jersey Dictionary..

Thanks for the information.

My girlfriend's flight got cancelled and is coming in tomorrow night.

SO that means that I will be driving into New Jersey IN THE MORNING from Raleigh, NC.

If anyone saw the Gumball Rally, that will be me! Dazed, confused, but with a smile on my face and a sleepy girlfriend in the passenger's seat!

(Rocky will be whining to get out and meet you all.)

Good luck to you guys on the trip. I REALY wish I could go, maybe there will be a next time.
One thing I want to stress about on what Brian said, the "U" turns... they are a PITA, so sometimes when you want to turn, it's not a simple task like here on in your guys' states. When I have to drive around Jersey, that's the part I hate the most. However, I like the drivers in NJ better than here in VA, well, at least the ones from North NJ, don't know about the South. The drivers are very agressive there, if you wait 2 seconds on a green light, they're already going crazy on the horn, so don't be offended, just make sure you don't take too long to go on a green light.
Sometimes the same stuff you've heard about NY drivers, apply to NJ drivers, or the whole Tri-State area (NJ,NY,CT)
