I've always heard good things about Magnaflow. Has anyone used this on the Titan?? The sound clips on the website sound nice. I'm really wanting an exhaust, Just deciding on which one to buy. Right now i'm leaning towards Banks b/c all the owners seem to love it. However, if nobody has tried the Magnaflow, then I may be willing to try it. On the other hand, if someone has it and it's crappy, then screw it.
Later,
Jeremy
I love mine also. Not to loud like the banks, but growls when you want it. I can not keep my foot out of it because it sounds so good. I have dual side exhausts. I do have a little more drone with the side exhaust, but it sounds good, so it does not matter. When I go under a overpass or ride along side a k-rail, I get the lovely growl reverbing off the concrete and love it.
Having been a Flowmaster loyalist for several years, I'm more than pleased with my new Magnaflow setup. I used the 5 x 11 dual in/dual out, P/N 12468 (if I remember correctly) muffler and it's awesome, to use an overused term. It's got a deeper growl than the Flowmaster 40, and I hear it more at idle than I did the Flowmaster. A lot of folks complain about a "drone" at the 14-1600 RPM range, and this muffler definitely is heard in that range. Like anything else, once you've been exposed to it for awhile, you don't notice it much. The whole point of a performance exhaust is to increase performance and to give your vehicle an aggressive sound. Personally, I like to hear what my powertrain is doing, so I don't mind the "drone". Whatever you decide to do with your exhaust, good luck and I hope that you're happy with it.
Just to add my $0.02, I installed dual in/dual out magnaflows to my '06 and felt immediate satisfaction. The drone was a bit unusual at first but, as said, you get used to it and it will grow on you. Slap some on and watch heads turn!
If you are looking at a "do it yourself" install, both Jegs and Summit Racing sell the Magnaflow single and dual out systems. I wanted to totally eliminate the Y-pipe on my truck, so I had a custom system built; two individual exhaust pipes into a dual inlet, dual outlet muffler, and two tailpipes out under the bumper. Cost me less than the "store bought" single in/dual out Magnaflow kit, which uses a Y-pipe. Of course, my piping isn't mandrel bent, but with the bump up in the size of the piping I used, it doesn't really matter. Shop the sites I listed above, get their pricing and then check with some of our sponsors to see if they will meet ot beat those prices. Or, check with a local exhaust shop to see what they would charge you to build a custom system. Just stay away from the "chain" shops like Midas; too many horror stories of sloppy work and high prices. Good luck!
you are definalty better off finding a good muffler shop and having them use maganflow parts, and bend the pipe to fit. A kit will run about 650.00 mine with mandral bends cost 425.00, and another local shop that I have started to work with will do the same set-up for 385.00. The Just muffler shops, have experience, and can knock out an accurate job, at a much cheaper cost.
