Install monitor in overhead console?

I have an '07 Crewcab 4X4 LE. No DVD or Nav. My plan is to buy an inexpensive 7 Inch monitor off of Amazon. Possibly a headrest monitor or something similar. I want to install the monitor in the rearmost fold down compartment in the overhead console. From there I plan to run RCA cables to the center console for video input and either run the audio cable up to plug into the AUX plug for sound or possible splice in from the backside of the plug for a cleaner install. I have no need for an actual DVD player because I have a plug to go from my Ipod to RCA video input. Has anyone done anything like this? Looking for shortcuts or "this is how I did it" tips.
