HELP: Won't Start When Cold?

Hey all,

Love the forum, I've done some searching and don't see anything that fits my problem. I have a 2004 King Cab, and on cold mornings like today (15 F) The truck won't start, I have to jumpstart it.

The battery is only 2 months old, the other one was only 2 years old and it was totally dead.

I already had the IPDM issues and all that so that is all squared away, this only happens when it is super cold, it was in the single digits last night, but I drove it last night also.

Could there be something draining the battery and it only shows up in the Winter because of the cold? I never have issues when its not super cold out, now and then if I don't drive it for a few days it's a bit sluggish to crank.

Any tips are greatly appreciated, I'm pulling my hair out here, no time to jumpstart it this morning so I drove my little VW in, and the heat works so so haha.

sounds like a battery issue to me...whats the CCA for the battery you have?

Thanks, it is 700 CCA. I thought that should be good enough but apparently not, I am thinking that or maybe I have an electrical gremlin, it's very frustrating though.

do you have anything else attached to the battery? Do you have a stereo system installed?

Thanks! Yes I just saw that bulletin somewhere else too, looks like the stinkin IPDM, yet again. Now in reading it, it looks like it relates to the starter, will the truck still try to crank even if the starter isn't working properly?

Also I do have a Pioneer Avic navi system and a small amp attached, but earlier this winter I just disconnected it one evening when real cold and it was the same thing in the morning, had a hell of a time starting.

I could probably check for battery drain somehow when everything is off?

I am experiencing this same issue.

The truck would not start on cold soak in OH (20 degrees or so).
Replaced the IPDM and battery was dead so had to jump it with my wife's Acadia, and it fired right up.
Next cold morning, same issue was present, it would crank but would not start
Jumped it again and started right up
Never thought it was a battery issue b/c it cranks fine for a long time until I run out the battery.
Replace the batter with a new one (only paid tax cuz it was still under warranty at Costco)
It seemed this fixed the issue, but the symptoms returned about 10 days later.
This morning, it would not fire up after sitting for two days, but hasn't been too cold (about 30)
Jumped it and started right away
So now, I am wondering if it is the ECU. Do any of you think this may be a good option?

This issue is making me hate Nissan, although this has been the only issue I've had to deal with my Titan since I bought it new in 2007.
