well when i bought the truck it said 15 miles city 19 hway. i drive 70% hway and the rest in the city and the truck is doing less than 15 miles averange. what the hell is wrong? how can kill my gas like that? it does less than what nissan says it will do in the city and i drive most hway miles than anything else.
I know you will ask me how hard i drive but let me tell you that i dive my truck like an old lady and the tire are 35 psi and no matter if i use 87,89 or 91 gas still terrible.
My old car ( caprice 96 5.7l) was doing around 18 miles city and hway how can a 2004 car with a similar litter engine do so bad? this make no sence, after all this years you think they will get better gas miles cause technology is way more advance.
you tell me what you think i wish nissan was more honest and tell the truth and advertice the right miles per galon cause this does not make sence.
thanks

The sticker on the truck is an average and is under perfect conditions. I get 16.7 mpg and I have a heavy foot. (I don't speed too much, I just get up to speed in a hurry  LOL) I get about 325 miles before I worry about getting a fill up. Not sure why you aren't getting the same unless your foot is heavier than you think. LOL
everyone will have different luck with fuel mileage. I get around 16mpg not great but its on par with most v8 full size trucks. Its just a little worse than my last truck. Not much though. The reason we hate it soo much though is not the mpg but the $ per gallon. Right now gas is like twice what it was just a couple years ago. this makes a big difference. If gas was still a little over a dollar a gallon we wouldnt think much of it.
just my 2 cents.

LOL - I'll settle for a little over $2 a gallon right now (So Cal region is ~$2.50/gal). I keep having to reset the pumps when I fill up now because my gas card will only allow a maximum fuel purchase of $50 per swipe of the card.
Take a look at the overall inflation rate in the US and compare it to how much gas prices have gone up in the past 50 years. I'd have to say I'm pretty happy with the way gas prices are. If you adjust gas prices for inflation, gas was a little over 3 bucks a gallon in 1980. Sure gas has gone up 30 or 40 cents this year, but until we start paying what the rest of the world pays, you won't hear a complaint out of me.
You don't say what size tires and how many miles your truck has on it. I have a KC SE with about 4000 miles on it and 18" tires. I drive about 95% highway (60 miles interstate every weekday and around town on weekends) and I average 19 MPGs. If I adjust it for the odometer error, I can get almost 20 MPGs with straight interstate driving. I probably average between 70-75MPH on the interstate.
Wow blizzard I believe we are going to have to call Guiness. LOL thats got to be the best MPG I have seen on any Titan. Hope you keep those kind of averages and I hope I catch up with you.
The best I've ever gotten was 16.1 or little over 17 if I go by my gps and not the ODO. That was a full tank of gas on the highway averaging about 75 with a couple full throttle jumps up the the speed limiter. I normally average about 14 overall.

I filled up the other day and it was 18.1 mpg (376 miles and 20.67 gallons). I almost always fill up at the same Sheetz and the same pump. I drive about 60 interstate miles a day and 8 city miles (but I don't have to stop for more than 1 light usually).

I'm pretty anal about checking the mpg, before the titan I had an old F150 and that was the only way to keep up with it.
Here is a thread to the mileage some others are getting. I apologize if you don't want a link to another Titan board, but it was pretty interesting that we were talking about this and it came up over there too.

no problem I link to them sometimes. I am an active member there as well.
Paying $4.30 in Hawaii, only getting 15 mpg, still love the truck though, hate opec....
I usually get about 180 miles for half a tank and all city driving.

Yeah but your city is small.:D
I got 154 miles to a half tank today...lead foot and a small town where the engine has hardly any time to warm up.
I went 145 miles on a quarter of a tank pulling a jetski going 80mph except to pass people. I was surprised. haven't checked my mpg yet but im interested in seeing what it is though.
Somebody is digging REALLY deep into the CT archives!!!!
yeah could have sworn I read this one before!
I get about 350 miles down to quarter tank, a/c on and sometimes lead footed to overtake, just to hear the growl of the factory exhaust lol.:)
