Has anyone got a new chip or reprogrammed their chip to bypass the speed limiter. I have had my truck to 115 but won't go higher. Just wanted to know if there is a chip yet or will there be one. Or will there be a way we can reprogram it ourselves.

Well you know I aint saying my truck is never gonna wind up on the drag strip. We have a local strip about 8 miles from my house so I would really like to hit it next season. I really don't want to go and look like a bafoon though. Know what I mean.

Smooth as butter. I like to have her running about 45 or so and then just floor it. She gets up there really quick. This truck handles so well. My last truck Dodge Ram Quad CAb 1500 jumped all over the road. If I had ever gone that fast in my Dodge and hit a small pebble in the road I would have lost control. The front end on that thing jumped all over the place.
The Titan however is steady smooth and fast. I absolutely love this truck.

Funny thing is it still feels like it really wants to climb at that speed. I don't know why they have to limit the speed like that. I mean why show 140 on the speedo and not be able to try and hit it. LOL

I think they limit the speed for legal and cost reasons. The tires are likely spped rated to 117 or so, so if you were going faster and had a tire failure it would be Nissans liability for making it possible to excede the safe limit of the tire. And tires with a higher speed rating will cost more so it was probably much cheaper to program a limit into the computer than get high dollar tires or risk liability. 8)

Josh,
I am positive that a month or so ago, someone posted a link on TT for a Titan speed limiter bypass. I did a quick search but didnt see it right away. I remember clicking on link and looking at it but thats it.

Shorter tires would not only throw the speedo off, but would also activate the speed limiter before hitting the "real" speed limit. That's one of my problems for the dragstrip. I want to run shorter tires to get a better overall gearing ratio but I can't go too short or it will think it's going faster than it is and shut everything down. I'm going to look for that link because all the controllers (VDC, ABS, and ECM) use a network cable for communication. Since there is no one wire to cut or put a speedo box calibrator on I'd like to know how that is done. Speed for the truck is measured from the wheel sensors.

Hehee, WOO HOOO!!! I can break 100 finally!

The X was limited around 94-97. It drove fine (straight track) at that speed, the the little 3.3 SC I had was really straining.

Oh wait, its the wife's truck... wonder if she'll let me do it?

(I havent told her how fast I've driven the maxima :) )
