I was under the hood checking out some things for the airbox. I happened to look over at the bottom of the battery. I can't believe I never noticed this, but I have so much corrosion build up, the hold down bolt is actually eaten away! There is also caked corrosion under the battery box. Trip to dealer come Monday! This is making me wonder if I am overcharging? Can you think of anything I should have checked that could have caused this? I mean for 4 months, and 3800 miles, this is really excessive!

Not that I can tell. I really don't want to mess with anything untill dealer sees this. I am as upset with the corrosion build up under the box as I am with the box. That paint on there will never be the same, and will be much more suseptable to rust!

If it is a servicable battery check to see if the caps are tight. They may have been loose from being charged from the dealer or something along those lines.

Just got back from the dealership. I talked with my service manager, and he litterally sprung into action. He orderd a new battery, told me once it is installed, charging system will be checked. Called body shop and informed them he was sending it down to have all acid corosion cleaned off, and all areas underhood retreated/repainted. He had a loaner truck brought up (04 Dodge Dekota), and I was on my way in under 30 min.! He will call me when it is finished. I couldn't believe how well I was treated, and how fast the action taken on my part happened! I have heard horror stories about my dealership, but they have bent over backwards for me 3 times now since I bought the Titan. I will let all know of what the cause was when I get it back.
