Im gonna be changing my rear diff fluid this weekend and I was wondering if you would recommend I drain and fill with a cheaper oil then Amsoil let is run a bit then drain again and then put the Amsoil 75-140 in it? My diff fluid is very dirty and I think if I just drained it and put in the Amsoil if would dirty up the new oil? Also do I need any additive I have a 07 tow package.

Thanks..

I just used Royal Purple with my Truetrac. Unless you're installing an upgraded differential, I do not see a reason to drain, fill with new cheap fluid, drain again then add Amsoil (it is highly recommended for Truetrac to get all the metal particles out). I am sure some experts here will chime in and give better advice, but in my opinion just drain and add Amsoil on a level ground after you ran the truck for a little. I look at it as changing my oil and filter. lol I have heard a lot of good things about Amsoil though and there should not be any additive required for the drain and fill.
