hey guys i live in the desert and my truck is all the times outside what can i do to protect it from the weather?
someone told me to give 3 coats of wax? what do you think? when they said 3 coats do they mean one coat over the other and after all 3 aplied i buff it? or i should aply one coat buff it and after aply the second coat and buff it and repeat that 3 time?
WHAT BRAND OF WAX AND POLISH DO YOU RECOMEND, WHERE DO YOU GET IT FROM?
IS THERE A CLEAR WAX IN THE MARKET? (the reason i m asking is beacuse the las time i wax a car i left left over of wax between the gaps, cracks and unions and it did not look good and was a paint in the *** to clean it)

3 coats huh....that sounds a little excessive but then again I've never lived in the desert. I've been using the Turtle wax ultra series with excellent results...Give it a shot and try to use a paste instead of a liquid. It's a little harder to remove but a paste tends to last longer and give better protection...

And if you find little areas you missed with this wax a few days/weeks later it comes right off with a rag.
I am a big fan of "rejex" polymer wax from corrosionx.com. Its easy to put on and take off and makes getting bugs off front very easy. Only downside is when you apply it, the truck needs to stay out of elements (rain or dew) for 12 hours so the polymer can cure.

Now that stuff sounds interesting Mike. I've never heard of it. Is it a liquid or paste?
Its a liquid Dale. I use it on everything, truck, chrome on truck, lights, foglights. It gives a brilliant shine as well as making things easy to wash off.

The 19 dollar bottle will last for a LONG time. I have done at least 5 vehicles with this last bottle and probably got a 1/2 bottle left. The gallon size must be used by professional detailers because I couldnt ever imagine using that much!!!!
I park my truck outside. How do I use this product because it said that I have to wait 12 hrs for it to cure?
I still like the old WalMart standby, NuFinish! I feel it gives a great shine, lasts a very long time, and is not expensive at all!
I use Mequires High Tech Yellow which does a great job. I initally put a coat on each week for the first 3 weeks then a coat every month.
what is this "wax" you people speak of?
I use Mother's Carnuba Cleaner Wax, myself. Any carnuba will give you a long-lasting shine and protect you from the elements. It's all a matter of personal choice. Just ensure it's clearcoat friendly (no abrasives to scratch the finish). For a really deep shine, I like to use Formula 2001 Car Polish on top of the wax. I'm with BiXLL; I get my products at Wally World; it's cheaper than at the local parts store.
Any of you guys ever used Zymol? I heard that it is actually made by Turtle Wax. I was thinking about trying it but wanted to see if anyone else had used it before I spend the $.
My Dad uses Zymol on his Tundra and his acura and he swears by it. They do look really good after he's done with it. I thought about trying it some time, but I don't wax my truck, maybe I'll try it on the wife's car.
Don't waste your time, I have used them all!!
Klasse is by far the best even including zaino(2nd choice) It outlast everthing, easy to apply and you can put it on trim without discolor. There is Klasse AIO and sealant......I use them both.....The sealant is like what dealers use and charge you several hundred dollars for protection. Meguires 20 is also good, but will not outlast Klasse.
I also use the Klasse twins. I top the SG with Trade Secret carnuba wax.

I bought the Zymol Cleaner/Wax from Wally World and did not like it when I compared it to the Mequires. I now use it for when I detail my buddies truck.
