Have any of you used the Gibson Exhaust?

I am thinking about swapping out exhausts. I love the sound of my Flowmaster dual in/out, but miss the hp and tq I lost. I did get a little hp on top end but thats not really where I want it. Any thoughts on the Gibson cat back exhaust system would be appreciated. By the way I'm talking about the one shown in the November issue of Sport Truck. It is a 3 inch system. Y-pipe to single in single out exhaust.

I don't know about the 3" setup m4ck. That's the same diameter as the Banks and some of those people complain about low end loss.

If your going to go with a single setup than 2.5" would be plenty and should preserve low end torque. I believe JBA makes a system that is 2.5" and replaces your resonators all the way back...I'll look and see what I can find because you NEED to get that dual in/dual out off ASAP if you want to ever enjoy tire burning low end grunt again!!
I believe JBA is a 3" setup also....

It DOES sound GOOD, though. I'd love to go this route sometime!
WHOA....$819 for the headers, ALONE!!!

So, I wonder if the results they've posted are with Both the headers AND the Catback setup? I suppose I need to read some more.............
Never mind, question answered:

$1200 bucks for the whole setup

Oh well, one day!
Okay, what's the difference between "aluminized steel" and "stainless" other than looks....

I can see dropping $311 for this

WAIT a minute....the details on that site says 2.5 inch tubes with 3 inch tip.......
Well according to JetTech that 2.5 is more what your want. I think it has to do with backpressure. Too big and you lose backpressure as well as tq. I think thats what he explained.

That's corrrect m4ck. I've talked with plenty of owners who have gone with the 2.5" system and they all have said they have the same if not better low end torque and the engine revs a lot more freely to redline than before thus showing an increase in overall flow.

I just had the Gibson Stainless Extreme Dual Exhaust put on the "Beast".

Not as loud as I expected but that's not necassarly a bad thing in my book. I've been pulled by State and County in the past for being too loud with duals on a Z71 Chevy with Flowmaster's and I don't mind the low, throaty performance sound the Gibson gives. BTW the County man gave me a ticket for ecessive noise and the State Police just gave me a warning. County said it is against the law to do ANY mods to your vechile... :? he was a Sargeant who said he had seen [heard] me around before but was always too busy to pull me all of the other times.

Don't get me wrong, it will turn heads when you stomp it and looks tough. The Stainless should last as long as the truck. I'm not sure what increases in torque and HP the dyno will say for the Titan but I can say that it feels more responsive now. According to Gibson they have some pretty impressive #'s on the dyno for this exhaust system on other trucks...

Thanks Finnattic and welcome to ClubTitan glad to have you here. I am still undecided about changing out. I really don't wan to drop the money on it. I will hold off and get some more opinios and dyno numbers.

Thank you for this site and all that are involved. It's one of the best looking if not the best looking TiTan site that I have seen...

Good to be onboard, I plan on recording some sound clips of me burning rubber as I mash the pedal to the floor  of the new exaust. I'll post as soon as I do. I also plan on doing a dyno and will post that as well asap. It will be interesting to compare to others that I've seen. If the dyno is consistant with others that I've seen than it should show more than 305 HP at the crank and 379 torque taking any mods out of the equation. I believe Nissan under rated this engine and all the dyno's that I've seen prove it...

I let my boss drive the TiTan the other day after I got the exhaust and he laid some Rubber down as he left the shop mimicking me the other day when I did the same in front of him and some co-workers with my new ride. I had lots of different feelings about someone else burning the tires off my new truck other then me but hey, what can I do, he's my boss and a long time friend. The other guy's said,"looks like he got you back." So I decided it was funny and just just laughed because I know his Dodge won't do that and when he drives it now it will never be the same for him after driving the TiTan
