New to the forum, but been lurking for abit.
Me and the wife decided we need a larger truck, so the search begins for a 06+ Titan Crew Cab LE 4WD. Currently have a 2WD 01 Frontier Crew Cab with small things done, but its time get something bigger and better. My MPG suck and the truck is weak, so if I get some power and still have the same MPG with a Titan...I certaintly didnt lose anything.

Are there any particulars I should be looking for in the Titans? Any problematic areas?

In the end we want the Titan with a 6in lift, rolling 18"s with 33-35"s at most.

Pic of the Frontier...that will be retired in the future.

Welcome to the Club. Nice looking frontier, to bad no power at all. As far as the Titan earlier years were the rear ends exploding and tiny brakes on big trucks were some issues. Look into the '08 and up because of above mentioned issues being resolved for the most part. Good luck on the search.

What year Titan

While I agree that earlier models had to work out the kinks...'08's and up can't have Trutrac differentials.

I have an '04 and upgraded as I became aware of potential issues.

My truck runs like a champ and it's pretty well modded now.

Welcome aboard.

thanks
i knew of the brakes from awhile back
the diff issue is new
what is the fix?
just upgrade to an 08+ diff?

what is the average MPG in the city and highway
my Frontier was good at 13MPG on the highway and city
full tank would get me like 225ish

MPG's are all over the place. It really depends on 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive as well as SE or LE or Pro 4X. I average 14.5 in my LE 4x4, but averaged 15 in my 2004 XE 4X4. Some average lower some higher. I'd move up to the 2008 or above if I were you. They pretty much fixed most of the issues by then. Unless you are the type that can't leave well enough alone, then you can replace the items that are problematic on older models.
