Is it just my windows that get hazy and filmy

Ok I have noticed that its a real pain to keep the front winow clean. I drive at night to work so I can tell really easy that there is this nasty haze or film kinda like the film you see on the inside of a heavy smokers car. I dont notice it on any other window but the front window. Is there something that they have put on it or on the inside that makes it like this. I have cleaned it with several different glass cleaners and when I'm done cleaning they look good but by night time they are filmy again. Any tips I would appreciate it. If you drive at night you know why I hate this because when lights from traffic hit it you can not see out.
thanks

Same problem here M4ck! We use 50/50 alcohol/water mix on our acft, so I tried it. It works fine....NO More haze! And, yes it is on all the windows, it's just more noticeable on the front :)
oddly enough if you use newspaper and any kind of window cleaner to clean your windshield it will not leave a film.

I have heard that from a guy I know who is a car detailer for an Audi dealership.
I can not use alchohol on my windows because of the tint. The tint guy told me it would mess it up. I have to use water and soap. Or so he said. On the outside I can but this stuff is on the inside. Well at least I can do the front window. The rest will have to keep the film

And on your tinted windows use a window cleaner that is amonia and alcohol free. It's easily available at all car parts stores. I use an old T-shirt on my side and rear windows with no haze at all.
I get the same haze as well. I was told that a mixture with vinegar will take it off. Don't know if that would work with your tint.

I have another car that gets the haze too. It's a Chevy.
Mine is guilty also. I have found that some cleaners are much worse that others. The Armor-All glass wipes in the little bucket are horrible for not only leaving the film but I think making it worse. I have some NAPA glass cleaner in a spray can that seems to keep it off for about a week. But it has amonia so not a good choice for you. I will have to quit using it on the sides after I get the front ones tinted. But that could be a while the closest auto tint place that actually knows how to tint is about 90 miles away. 8)
It's my understanding that the haze comes from the plastic inside the cabin. My Chevy has done this since I bought it. Just something to live with! :?
I really think all vehicles have this problem. It's more noticable at night or when the sun hits the windshield just right. I've had good luck just using a microfiber towel and just buffing like mad. My windows only seem to get that film real bad when I don't have any cleaner or rag (proably like getting a flat when you don't have a spare). The Stiener's Invisable glass seems to get most of it off.
Mine is so bad, that you can see the sticker that the dealer had in the upper right corner to identify stock number and such. I mean you can actually read the numbers, and the sticker aint there! I have found nothing to get the haze off. I will try the alcohol thing next.
I've heard its from the defroster. Even if its not on, dust and that film collect on the glass from the engine. This is what I've heard...
The wife added alcohol to windex, and I tried the newspaper wipe technique. It worked GREAT!!!! I had heard of using newspaper a long time ago, but never tried it. It works so much better then a cloth or paper towel!

Cool, I need to buy a newspaper and take my own advice. The dealership did a terrible job of cleaning my new baby....the windows are scuzzy!!

I dont know if they still make it or not, but I have an old bottle of eagle one glass cleaner and polish that works great. It looks like liquid wax. I also have eagle one plastic polish and cleaner that works well on the tinted windows.
Nothing beats old fashion elbow wax and newspaper. Works great everytime.
