Love my Titan, but...(long)

First I'd like to say that I don't think I've met a titan owner yet that didn't love thier truck. My wife picked me up at the airport when I came home from my year and a half vacation to southwest asia in the Titan she bought for me and I've loved it since day one. I have had a few problems with it though.
I guess the radio reception has already been brought up and there is a TSB on it, so I won't say much about it.
I've been having an intermittant problem with my front passenger, and very rarely the drivers window. The passenger side will start to roll up when you hit the button, but it stops almost immediately and goes down, then a 5-6 second delay before it will do anything, sometimes it will do it several times before the window will go all the way up. Both sides will occasionally go all the way, and then open back about 3 inches or so, sometimes doing it 8 or 9 times before it will stay up. Has anyone else had this problem? I know I should just call the dealership, but I'm always able to (eventually) get the window to work properly and I hate dealing with the dealership. It's not that they have given me bad service or anything, but I believe that if I can't fix it myself... it ain't broke.
The truck is an SE CC 4x4 with the big tow, offroad, utility bed, and power captains. I bought an aftermarket brake controller, wired it up and everything worked fine but, the controller doesn't have power all the time like it should, checked the wiring diagram, got the handy fluke out to check the pin on the truck side of the harness that should always me (ignition)hot and nothing. Couldn't find any blown fuses and I believe all the relays are there. Is there a relay just for this? All the other wiring works fine, and the controller does get voltage when you hit the brakes, just not all the time(no green light) like it should.

Other than these minor problems, I love this truck. I love pulling up to a hemi at a light, most of them around here won't even try any more, guess they don't want to be embarassed.
Thanks in advance

Hi there NateL nice to have you aboard. We have some really great people here. I personally have not had any issues with my truck yet. Knock on wood. I believe MikeZ was haveing some issue with his last Titan as far as the power windows go. His didn't seem quite as bad as yours though. I believe his just got to a certain point then jumped kinda. Went up and down rough. Maybe he can help you a little.
As far as the aftermarket brake controller maybe someone could help there. Please give a little info on it. Brand model number that kind of thing. Might help a little.
Keep checking back I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.

thanks for the reply. Actually the problem with the brake controller isn't the aftermarket controller itself, it's the underdash factory connecter. I'm not getting power at the terminal that is supposed to be constant hot, I don't recall which terminal on the plug it is off the top of my head, I'll have to double check. I just know that I'm not getting power at the terminal with the ignition on, and it's not shorted to ground or any of the other wires in the harness.
I would not tolerate the aggravation you are having with your windows. Take it to the dealer, make them give you a loaner truck, and have them call you when it is fixed! On the brake controller, are you sure the plug of the controller matches up correctly, so far as proper wires making connection when plugged in. To me, it sounds like you don't have things lined up correctly. Can you find a constant hot off the factory plug where you are connecting to the controller? If so, does it match up with the hot lead of the controller plug?

Oh yeah, welcome to the site!
the under dash brake controller harness has 5 pins in the connector. The Red/green wire is the switched stop signal to the controller. The black wire is the controller ground. The Brown/white wire is the brake controller switched output going to the trailer brakes. The Red/blue is for the illumination of the trailer brake controller. The Red wired "should" be a fused battery feed. I'm not getting any power at this pin, just curious if any one knows if there is a relay that I might be missing associated with that wire, or the location of the fuse as it may be blown. I've checked all my fuses but I may have overlooked one. In other words... none of these wires is a constant hot.
Wish I could but Don't think I will be able to help on window issue. Mine never didnt work, they just would jump a little on way down. Otherwise not a smooth roll down.
These windows have an automatic roll down when they feel resistance (safety thing). It sounds like something might be off track causing some binding but this is just a guess. Clearly a warranty issue, take it in and make them fix it.
