Lowered Titan

Thought I would submit this after reading this post: http://www.clubtitan.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=201

I figured it would show the opposite side of the spectrum. I found this pic when I was debating on trading in my 2001 chevy s10 xtreme on a titan. I was looking for a pic of a custom /lowered titan just to see what it would look like. Now that I own a titan and the more I drive it, I strongly doubt it will get any closer to the pavement than it already is. Having a truck that you dont have to worry about scraping or ripping off the ground effects off,or having to endure a bone rattling ride has been a drastic change for me. I seem to enjoy this truck alot more. I still like to look at those type trucks though, especially this pic of a titan. As evidence of this pic, the titan can sure make a nice custom street ride in my opinion.

I myself buy lots of truck magazines to look at the custom trucks. I do like the way this truck looks but I dont like how low it is. It should be a little higher. The wheel wells look way too big on it with it on the ground like that. Just my opinion. And yeh I know what opinions are like. LOL. I like all kinds of trucks lowered, raised, street, off road all of them. I love to see stuff like this so if you see anymore Titans customized please post them.

yup, its all good 8) Oh, and the suspension on that truck is air adjustable..... Its just "airless" in that pic. lol
Call me old (again), but I have never liked the lowerd look on anything. It makes no sense to me, bad ride, scraping vehicle, and looks like something broke in your suspension. Now raised, thats a different story!
Bad ride should only be that way if it’s cheaply done. I know when I had my sports cars/muscle cars the lower center of gravity and stiffer suspension definitely made a difference in cornering/handling. While not the soft supple ride of a Cadillac I wouldn't call it a bad ride.
I agree, when it is done right, a lowered suspension will ride good. I have rode in trucks with air suspension and the ride seems (at least to me) smoother than a conventional spring setup. The complaint I had with my former truck was the fact that they used a shorter stiffer coil spring up front instesd of using drop spindles, which gave it a very uncomfortable ride. I hope to do some major cutomizing to my Titan if I still have it in about 10 years. My plans are an air suspension and a fresh motor on nitrous  I plan on retirement around that time so I will need a good project to keep me busy
BiXXL, I take it by your comments that you have never had a chance to ride in a vehicle with air suspension.
We installed a full airride setup in my dakota this spring. The thing rides like a cadillac. And when I air it up to drive, never 'scrape' anything. I know its not for everyone, but its what I like.
If you are ever in the chicago area, let me know, and I will take you for a spin. Although you are not into lowered vehicles, I think you would be impressed with the ride.
I do have a Titan also, just no mods to talk about yet.
Welcome aboard costlydakota Hope to see pictures of that Titan when you get it tricked out. If you haven't seen them yet look in the Gallery and check out the Sema Show section. There are some really great lookin Titans in there. The Nismo Titan has ground effects that look great.

I hope I didn't rile you, that was not the intention. I guess my opinion could very well be outdated, as I have not riden in a lowerd vehicle of any kind since the mid 70s. I know back then I was not impressed at all, couldn't figure out why anybody would want that!
no, no, i'm not riled. Just trying to share my experiences and opinions. Heres a pic of my costly dakota. So far it has a full air ride system 20" wheels up front, 22" in the rear, suicide doors, frenched antenna, shaved handles and gas filler. The next project is to chop the top this winter and install a jaguar indendant rear suspension.

As for my Titan, I havent decided what to do to it yet. However, My ARE Z series gets here tomorrow

By the way, great site!!!
