Tailgate up/down/mesh/topper/delete

It appears that Mythbusters tests resulted in a finding that driving with tailgate up, tailgate down, with a topper and no tailgate all resulted in very similar mpg. However, driving with a mesh net resulted in an almost 5% gain in mpg. That is a significant gain. I wonder if that also translates into a 5% performance gain and whether it also equates with a 5% rpm reduction at highway speeds?

5. Keeping Your Motor Running While Idling Saves Gas (myth)

Isn't idling just that.....with your motor running?...lol. Although I know what was meant, it just sounded like a moronic statment.
