Painting the throttle body cover? Anyone thought of this?

Hey I was just thinking this morning when I was showing some co-workers the Titan's engine that I should paint the Throttle Body Cover. Has anyone thought of this or already done it. Would be neat to see it a contrasting color and maybe the lettering in a different color. Also have any of you ever used that wire mesh loom that covers hoses and lines in the engine compartment for a better look. If so what kind and where did you get them. I'm interested in making everything stand out a little. Let me know what you think.

I've seriously thought about painting the cover... I've had it off a couple times. Just never got around to painting it. I don't think I'd use any of the color loom for the wires or hoses, I've always thought they were a little cheesy. Just my opinion.
I think I've seen a picture of one on another site....I'll see if I can find it. Looked pretty good.

I've also thought of this, but haven't gotten around to it.
I would definately be interested in seeing that picture. Would be nice to see it before I try it. I do think I want to do that this weekend though. Hope it turns out good.

I've thought about using that color changing spray paint stuff. I can't remember what its called but Dupli Color makes it. I've used it on a few chrome(I hate chrome) pulleys and air cleaners on my Scout and it turned out great. I'd post the pictures of them, but they look like crap in the pictures. I just don't know how well it would turn out on the texture of the titan cover.
Yeh I am not at all sure what color I even want to go with. I know I want to make the cover one color and the lettering on the cover a different color so it will stand out. I think it could really make it POP when you lift the hood. Know what I mean.

I have a bad habit of doing my engines in Plum Purple. Hmmm, must be a K-State thing. Maybe that is why I haven't painted mine yet, I don't want a purple engine in my new truck
Yeh that would defiately POP lol

Firecracker did you ever locate that picture. I really don't want to jump into this without seeing someone elses already done.

Nope, sorry, man. Still looking though. I think it was somewhere on cardomain.com.......dunno though.
Still couldn't find the picture, so I made my own (with the help of Photoshop, of course!) Probably could be a little better with just a little more time. This one only took about 5-6 minutes to throw together. Hope this helps with your VISION. Shoot me a picture and a color if you'd like to see something different M4ck!
Actually I'm thinking of painting it Silver to match my truck and the lettering maybe red.
I'll see what I can come up with as far as a picture for you
How bout this one?:

Couldn't quite get the Silver bright enough.....
Something like that but more Silver and the Nissan emblem would stay Chrome. Thanks for the picture though.
I am a new member to this site so lets me introduce myself, Deepwater Blue CC Off Road, Big Tow, Magnaflow Duals, Homemade air intake, painted engine cover and fluid caps, just wanted to chime in and say the annodized colors look real good in the engine carptment, also the sun won't fade them out like most annodized colors.
Magnaflow

Hey Endurance,

Welcome. Just had a quick question regarding your Magnaflow. I've been eyeing the single Magnaflow but them damn duals look too nice. I'm just a bit worried about how much louder it got inside the cab? I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thanks. Oh, and if you have any photos too, that'd be great.

Cheers,

Looks like I'm not the only one thinking about this. I've been looking at a thread over at 350zfrenzy.com on this same subject and you should see some of the work being done. You will need to create a login, http://www.350zfrenzy.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2389&highlight=paint

Actually my magnaflow is one muffler with 2 inlet and 2 outlet, the nice thing about magnaflow is they criss cross the pipes inside the muffler, the loudness is there on execeleration, but its quiets down alot when cruising, the drone is apparent at 60 mph in overdrive, in fourth gear it is at 40mph, about 2,000 to 2,500 rpm's is when you get the drone. I've had the muffler since May and now I am pretty much tone deaf to it, I am not deaf just used to the sound now and I don't really seem aware of it.Hope this info helps. Dennis
