Performance question?

Okay guys...Has anyone here had the oppt. to test their Titan in 0-60, 1/4mile, and top end? And have the empirical evidence (i.e. a time slip) to back the numbers? I've seen the posted numbers on msn autos, and I don't have any reason to doubt the numbers posted there. If I can I will get my truck out to Bandimere before the end of the season and see what I get. My guess is that a high 16 sec 1/4 mile is a reasonable expectation given the elevation. As for top speed I've had my Titan to about 115 mph indicated on the highway, and it was still pulling well in 4th gear. I love my truck, but I love going around Chevys, Dodges, and Fords more.

Sam

You pretty much have already maxed out top end. Titans have a limiter on them that prevents more then 115-116. Although I believe someone is making a bypass for it already. I'm not comfortable at those speeds in a truck so really havent researched that part.

Excellent...a time slip

Thanks for posting a time slip. There is another thread where 1/4 mile times etc were being discussed. Curious to know what your launch RPM was...i.e what engine speed will the torque converter allow? And also what your were your shifts points RPM wise? Did you let the tranny shift, or did you shift it? My Titan seems to like to shift about 5500RPM on its own. I can't wait until someone makes a kit/chip that will firm up the shifting in this truck. To me it seems a little bit sloppy. But then again most folks aren't going to want the kind of shift feel I like. Nice, firm and quick. Again thanks for the info. :D

I launch between 1500 and 1700 rpm. I leave it in auto as I've tried other shift points and have found no gains. Yes, this truck definitely could use some better shifting.
