What to do dealer says replacement of entire rear end only/best fix @ 5,000$?
Searched threads and interweb but no real cut dry answers.
No noises, serviced with the BG synthetic since 30k & before every 30k. 06 4x4 off road big tow with 173,xxx
Looking for answers or suggestions. There is nothing really wrong, engages in 4x4 high & low. When you step on it get one tire spin. The dealer states the diff is staying locked?
Replacing entire rear end only fix is hard to believe? Looking for recommendations. Thanks in advance!!

Man how times change. This site was super informative back in the day. sht06 was my previous user name. Couldn't get it to upload as my email service provider has changed.
I provided information that I could back then and the courtesy was returned by members on site.
Work consumes most of my attention these days. That's the reason I started thread for some of the fantastic input that used to be almost instantaneous.
Hate to see my Titan just sit as I'm not sure what to do retire it or fix 5k$ is a healthy chunk of money. Surely the only fix can't be scrap the entire rear end.
I'm still in N.C. can anyone recommend some where to get a second opinion? ?
