Nice Mike thats perfect it still allows you to use your entire bed should you need to haul anything. Looks great too. I would like to see if you get any mpg increase. Keep us posted. P.S. hope you took pictures of installation so you can post a review for us. If not do a little write up on it and your thoughts and we can get it in the reviews section.

Thanks Josh. That was reason I wanted a rolltop, security, weather proof and still able to use it as a normal bed if needed.
Best I can tell it is weatherproof, gave the beast a good wash and afterwards looked inside and couldn't find any water..
Also works with UT. I have the extender and divider and both work without any modifications.

Install takes about 1 to 1.5 hours depending how many beers you have during assembly :p . Instructions were pretty good. Best of all, last week I called retrax a couple times to double check on some install details before I started and each time, the guys would stay on phone as long as needed to answer and seemed happy to do so.

I will work up a full review soon.

Looks great Mike! Looks to be perfectly level with no arch. Is water going to try to lay on it, or is there an arch I can not see? Did the UT give you any install problems?

Thanks Bill.
The UT presented zero problems. One of reasons I went with retrax was that they are only rolltop people that specifically made a rolltop for titan with UT. (they also make one for non UT titans.

That top is very sturdy ( no give) and there isnt any way water could puddle up that I see. I watered it down pretty hard when I washed it and there was no tendency to puddle. The top also has some type of UV repellent or something and as soon as water hits it, the water wants to roll off like it does on a car with fresh wax job.

Mike, my compliments. That topper looks great. Thanks for the pics. I have been comparing toppers for over a month now and believe that I will go with the Retrax. It is comforting to know that it will go in without modification and works with the UT. Mind me asking how much you paid and how long it took to get it?
Thanks. John

Thanks John.
I dont mind you asking. Most places that carry it sell it for about 750-780.00. I got this one from retrax directly and they discounted their "retail" price so that it matched this sale price. I think they list it at 880.00. It is a little more then Bak and others but not much more and between the quality and fact that it is only one that works with UT, I was more then happy to pay an extra 50-70 bucks. I then spent another 25 bucks on extra weatherstripping but not sure I really needed it. I had it about 5 days after I called them with order.

Actually, I have been considering the carriage works grill in black, just haven't committed. I love the way the front of my titan looks but want to fill that big hole on bottom. I dont want to add more chrome so the black may be the ticket. Of course I will review it if I do!!! :p

Bottom grill, ok, I'll give ya a passing grade for that! I know what you mean about filling bottom hole, but I would really like to be able to match the stock grill with something for down there.

Yep, If I do it, I will put new grills on top and bottom so they all match. Maybe Nissan will be filling that hole on 05's??

Hmmm, I am not sure if I can answer that question. I think it would be no problem but Retrax people could answer for sure. They are pretty up to date on what will and wont work on the titan. I just dont want to say yes for sure without being 100% positive.

Mike, if the retrax does not cover the slots in the top of the bed, then what would stop him from adding bed rails? Seems pretty straight forward to me?

Mike,

Still waiting and watching on covers. Down to the K-cover and retrax. Three questions: Do the cleats work? Did you remove the utility track at the head of the bed or is it just hidden by the cannister? After a couple of weeks with it installed, any issues or drawbacks?

I read the review, very nice, thanks for the effort.

BTW - why the trade in on your original Titan?

TIA

Looking at where the caps are, I would say there isnt any problem with bed rails working.
As far as cleats, yes they work but you have to do one of two things. They fit fine in their "Secured" state but getting them on or off requires to either slide them on from rear of track or pick out a spot on rail and notch it out a little so cleat can go on horizontally (the way it is when tightened down). Because of rail, you cant put cleat on vertically and turn it, too much angle. I chose to make the notch, took about 10 minutes for both sides. And in the end it is only 1" of rail that you cant secure the cleat and use. I didnt have to remove any of rails at all.
All in all I am VERY happy with it and have no regrets, I still havent found any water in bed after washes or rains. No rattling at high speeds and it LOOKS GREAT!!! The Kcover seems to be a good option as well. I think it really comes down to which look you like. The K cover has more of a "utility" look to it opposed to retrax. I also like the fact that retrax sits flush with top of bed.

My original titan had the passenger airbag issue. After A LOT of frustration with dealer, I had a lawyer get involved and in the end (LOOOONG story), the dealer gave me what I paid for the titan and sold me a new one below invoice. I couldnt pass that up!!! I decided to upgrade while I was at it and went from XE to what I have now.
