Anyone noticed how easy the top plastic caps on the sides of the bed and the tailgate scratch. Just curious. Seems like they would be made of a little tougher plastic. they seem to gouge really easy.

This was a complaint I had on an earlier thread! I notice that the plastic scratches real easy and the spray in liner is easily gouged. This is my main complaint about the truck. I was excited when I bought the truck to have this great “utility bed” package, but I am not that impressed with the spray in liner or the plastic in the bed. I do love the track system, but they dropped the ball with the liner. I hope they do a better job with future models.

Mine did not come with spray in liner. Its the plastic drop in liner. It is the best fitting drop in liner I have ever owned though. I just hate the plastic caps aren't made out of a tougher plastic.

I've got the factory drop-in plastic liner too. It's held up very well to abuse from generators, 55-gallon steel drums, and a 500-gallon poly tank. So inside the bed I can be a little reckless, but around those rails or the tailgate, I'm much more careful to prevent gouging and scratching them.

I got my first good gouge on the top side rail a few weeks ago. I was pissed for about a day and finally was able to convince myself this is what eventually happens to trucks and got over it, at least it made me feel better.
I am thinking that those pieces should be replaceable, question is how much. But if not too much, I might replace them once a year or so if needed 8)

I'm thinkin about bringing mine in to get the Rhino lining done.... the real stuff. The spray in by Nissan is a good idea, but they should get together with Rhino Lining. They could work something out so the spray on bed would be serious quality. Your truck bed will rust away before the rhino lining chips, or cracks.
