i need some help. my service engine soon came on and i took it to a
auto parts store and hooked it up to one of those hand held computers.
it came up " EVAP emission control system leak". its not the fuel cap, i
replaced it a couple of times. does anyone have any other suggestions.

it could be the Evap control valve being dirty. i've had that code before. i cleaned the valve with some break cleaner and then WD-40 and it solved the problem for a bit. it seemed to be a temporary solution, i've had to do it a few times, but every time, it gets rid of the light. i don't know if other members recomend it though, but it worked for me.

Nissan's had a problem with the vent control valves accross the board. There is a new designed one which is beefier but you should also get the systemed smoked too cause I've found a few pressure sensors leaking around the O ring.
