When my wife got home today she told me the brake were really loose feeling. I went outside and checked the claipers thinking there was something wrong with the wheels but everything looked good. No fluid on the lines, no marks on the calipers...all good. I check under the hood and the brake fluid is WAY below min on the master cylinder. I felt around and it seems like there is a ton of dried up fluid on the area around my cylinder. I dont get it. Cap was on tight. All the lines seem tight. Anyone else have this problem.

Never heard of that one before but it sure sounds like the reservoir is coming loose from the top of the master cylinder. That would be a dealership item ASAP!! Also the brake fluid will eat the paint it gets on, I would spray some simple green or other cleaner in that area and hose it off.

No I havent had the TSB done but I found the leak. Its coming from the ABS booster fittings. The brass ones that screw down into the ABS controller. My buddy came over last night. He is a mecahnic and says he thinks it been leaking for about a month now from the looks of the fluid since it is already starting to eat through the paint. Unfortunately the dealer is not open until Fri and I was supposed to go out to the desert [email protected]!!!!

Hell yeah I would...Everybody should. this is ridiculous. I've only had the truck about a month too so its probably been leaking since I got it and I just didn't think to check yet. The truck doesn't even have 3k miles on it yet. Also my friend noted it looked like someone had already taken a wrench to the fittings before too. If they knew about this and sold me the truck anyways I'm beating someones @ss.

Had you taken it anywhere to have anything done to it since you bought it? It coulda been one of them Dodge boys trying to sabotage the Titan.

Nope...Hasn't even had its first oil change yet. Its only get 2k miles. I'm waiting for AEM to release their Brute Force intake for it so I can install my JBA headers, Banks exhaust, and Intake all at once. Plus my lift comes in next week. Nope the only place its been is Dicount Tire for wheels and tires but I was next to the truck the whole time. I only let someone work on it if I can't do the work with my air tools and compressor.

MIAPLAYA,
I check my fluid levels often and haven't had low fluid in the brake reservoir. What's your build date on your Titan? It sounds like someone did not tighten a bolt on the assembly line. Also, the dealer may have doen the brake judder TSB on the truck prior to selling it. My dealer did this on the Titans that were on their lot when the updated TSB came out. I have heard of only one other brake booster problem. I live in So Cal so I know how much fun the desert is in a new truck and that sucks if you can't make the trip. I hope they do a good job with the repair and clean up or replace anything that's been damaged from the fluid.

Thanks all. Yeah I mean the leak has obviously been there for a while and it took 2k miles and a month for me to finally run out of fluid so its not a fast leak. I may go anyway and just park it out there. I drove it to work today and I got on the brakes HARD and had no probs. Checked my fluid when I got here and no noticeable loss in it. I'm gonna take it to the dealer tomorrow and see what they say but either way I'm going to Glamis tomorrow night. As for the headers yeah I dont expect absurd gains or anything maybe 10-15 hp. Supposedly the exhaust makes the most. Of course none will be more than when I get that Vortech kit. Whenever the hell it comes out...

I was hauling a fairly large load yesterday and had to do a quick emergency stop because of the SOB in front of me. The brakes felt really weak, so I assumed it was due to the extra load. Read this thread, checked my fluid and sure enough it was right at Min. However, I haven't found a leak yet, and I just purchased it, so mihgt not have been full to start with.

Check your ABS booster where the hardlines are bolted in. That is where mine was leaking. If you touch the top and there is fluid on it look down at the fender in the engine compartment if you have what looks like dried jizz and dirt in there you are leaking fluid from the booster. Same as mine was. BTW I took it to Nissan who just re-torqued the fittings and then orderd the TSB kit for me....
