Stereo converters?

Hey guys, it's awesome that there is a website forum dedicated to the Nissan Titan!! About 6 or 7 months ago I started to shop around so I could figure out what truck I wanted to get at the end of the year. I knew I wanted a full-size truck b/c I've been driving around in a little mazda B2200 pickup for the past 9 years. I was almost dead set on the Silverado until I made a trip to the local Nissan dealership here in town. I fell in love as soon as I opened the door. The interior in these trucks are amazing to me. Most trucks have bland interior, like the chevy's. Not to bash on chevy's b/c they are nice trucks, but I just don't feel that they are up to par like the Titan. I know exactly what truck I want to get, trust me, I've been shopping around and can't wait to get one. I'll probably buy one either in late Nov. or the beginning of Dec. I want a crew-cab, silver SE with dark interior and five-bar rims, which I think the SE may come standard with that. I know it comes standard with captains chairs, which I must have. I love the center console with the captains chairs. I don't need any packages or special options, just maybe some floor mats, but that's it. I have a question about the stereo. I have a couple of really nice pioneer head units (digital EQ & flip-down cd player) that I want to install in my titan when I get it. Looking at the factory radio, I'm not sure how that would work. Do they make an aftermarket conversion cover to use if you want to install aftermarket stereo's? I know they do for other trucks and I was wondering if they have made one for the Titan or if anyone has installed an aftermarket steroe in their Titan? What kind of deals have you guys been hearing about lately. I have a dealership here in Tx that said they would take 4K off the model that I want right now, so I would think they would deal even more at the end of the year when they are trying to get rid of the 04' models. I also have a mini disc player that I plan on installing in the center console, just like the dvd player is in the trucks that come with dvd players. Another question, if I kept the factory radio, could I hook up my minidisc player through the auxilary button on the factory deck? Thanks in advance for any info you guys can help me out with. I'm counting down the days till I get my new Titan, I can't wait!!!

Ok first you should probably go for a XE if you dont need all the packages. Main reason, if you are planning on putting in a new head unit you will have to buy a new radio console cover. The SE and LE have the RF radio package and you get that integrated radio dash thing. You would do better to get an XE because it has a regular dash and only requires a cheap dash kit. Like a Metra dash kit. I think its this one http://www.hififorless.com/showProduct.php?productid=68233
because its a double din unit in the XE. Plus you can get an XE for about 20 to 21k. Like I did. Oh here is a place you can get that dash if you go with an SE http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=68260-A60CC
Hope this is helpful. By the way welcome aboard.

Man, that's exactly what I was looking for!!! This forum rocks!! Thanks again for the info. Can you get an XE with captains chairs and five-bar rims? Those are the main reasons I want the SE, that and the fact that it comes standard with everything I want.
Wish I could help you on that but I just don't know the answer. You might just want to talk to a Dealer. If you head to our Dealer Deals section there is a Dealership that is offering 500 under dealer invoice. Maybe you can get with them. Good luck by the way.

WELCOME Kalani!! Glad to have you with us on this awesome forum.

I'll try to take a stab at some of your questions. The SE does not come standard with the captains chairs, only the LE does. You have to get the popular package with captains chairs if that's what you want.

The 18" spoke wheels are standard on the SE and the 17" steel wheels are standard on the XE.

RF does not come standard in the SE, only the LE but it's available with the SE, I would recommend you skip the RF package and install what you want. Look on ebay for the face plates for a single DIN.

I wouldn't wait on an 05 if you want some terrific deals on the Titan. I just traded my LE in on an SE 4X4 and I got it for invoice minus the $1500 that Nissan is offering. Right now is the time to buy!! Also contact the internet sales manager at whichever dealership your going to buy from because he's the one that will offer you the 1500 below invoice without any haggling.

If you have any more questions that's why we're here so ask away....

I got an KC SE with bedliner, floor mats and bed extender, I do not have the RF system though and glad I don't. I got all of this for more than $1500 under invoice without haggling but thats because we had just purchased a Murano from the same guy a little over a week before.

Talk to your dealer I am sure they will cut you a deal, unless you feel like driving to florida where all the dealerships are hurting for sales thanks to the hurricane game we have been playing here.
Bighitter is right, the dealer should cut a deal. I wasnt crazy about the ulility package, but the dealer made me a good deal, so I couldnt pass it up. I still havent found anything except a few screwdrivers that will fit in that little box
Maybe I was mistaken, but on the "build your nissan" section of the Nissan website it said that the SE came with front captains chairs and if you wanted bench front seats they would take off 180$. I thought the popular package added power seats?? Then again, you guys know more about this than I do I'm sure. What is the RF?
What are captain's chairs? I thought they were the chairs with the middle console, floor-mounted shifter. It says on the nissan website that the SE comes standard with the floor-mounted leather wrapped shifter.

I stand corrected because your absolutely correct with the captains chairs being standard on the SE, I got my popular package equipment mixed up.

RF is the Rockford Fosgate Radio Package. Pass on this one because the radio is actually made by Panasonic and my mid-line radio sounds just as good as the RF I had in my LE. Not worth the mega extra bucks in my opinion.
Yeh way too many issues with the RF radio. Just get the regular radio. Then add your own head unit.

I have a few small ratchet straps, some tarp straps, (bungee cords) scdrew drivers , vice grips, pliers, and work gloves in mine. I still have room for possibly a tow strap?
That stereo converter cover is a double-den isn't it? I have two single den pioneer head units that I want to install.
Hey guys, I have a couple of really sweet Titan pictures that I took at the Houston Supercross and I was wondering how I could post them on here to show everyone? I have them saved under "my pictures" on my computer.
You must have them on a hosting site in order for them to have a url address. Here is a free site that will host, and resize your pics automaticly.

http://www.imagevenue.com

Go there, open an account, download your pics to an album. Then you right click on the pic, click on properties, copy the url address, or picture location. Come back to this site, click img button, next to it in the message box, paste your pic url, click img again. you are done.

Sounds more complicated then it is!
