My tranny got hot yesterday while I was sitting in traffic.(181degrees). It normally stays around 140degrees. So I was just curious how hot is normal for our tranmissions? Thanks for the info.

Being an owner of s high(er) performance Chevy with a crap transmission. Ive learned that transmission fluid will run at 225ish with no problems with recommended service intervals, at 240, you have about 15 minutes. At 250 youre clutches are pretty much smoked, and the viscosity is crap in the burnt transmission fluid.

Nissan automagic fluid may be better, but thats about how dexIII works
