Hey Guys-

Here in El Paso, Texas, we have a mountain pass called Trans Mountain. Pretty steep climb, but the other day, my tranny started getting really hot according to my in dash gauge. I used to be able to pull a heavy trailer and pass people the whole way up with no problems. Now, without a trailer, I am barely making it. Any suggestions?

2007 Titan LE, Big Tow with about 90,000 miles.

If it were me living in the area you do I would start with both tranny and cooling system flush and fills. If the problem persists, I would then look into an oversized aftermarket tranny cooler.

You should be in 4th gear or lower when going up a steep grade.
Check the fluid level. If you have never changed the transmission fluid you should drop the transmission pan, clean the screen and pan and refill. After driving for about 100 miles, drain the fluid and refill again. Do not do a power flush.
