Well as some of you know I was having problems with my tranny slipping between 3rd and 4th, but only doing it in my performance Tune. Well I was tired of being slow in stock mode so I bought the Rebuild kit from IPT and a rebuild manual. This past weekend I rebuilt it and sent my valvebody off to IPT for a Upgrade kit. Let me tell though, this was no easy chore. It took me 4 days to rebuild it and install it again. 2 days were wasted on trying get the dang torque converter to sit farther on the shaft. I finally figured it out though, it justed needed to line up with the trans oil pump's internals and finally slipped right in after putting the tranny in the truck 3 times.... Anyways here is some pics of it. Overall if I had a car lift this chore wouldn't be so bad, but I don't. The rebuild part was pretty straight forward as long as you have the manual. It walks you right through it with pictures. Let me tell you though there is a lot of things going on inside of a transmission. Most people don't realize how much stuff is involved in order to make your truck go down the road. I also cleaned out the VB by splitting it open and cleaned all the pathages. Had lots of graphite looking junk inside it. I did take it for a test ride before I sent the VB off today and it works good. By the way the only clutches that looked bad were the Direct Clutches were completely smoked as you can see in one of the pics. Anyways enjoy! Follow the link to see pics
