What year is your truck? Odds are being that it is an XE, it is not a chipped key. But, I have seen some that are, and if the dealer looks it up in the catalog, it will show it to be regardless. I don't know why, but every key I have looked up on XE, it shows it to be a chipped key even if it is not. Does your truck have the security light that flashes after you turn it off, or lock the truck? If it does not, then the odds of it not being chipped just went up. If it's not chipped you can get a key cut anywhere, but if it is chipped you'll have to do it at the dealer. The chipped key's usually run $20-25 depending on what mark up the dealer has, and they usually charge 1/2 hour labor to program it, which is $45 at the dealer I work at.
