Maybe somebody can help me on this one. I tried searching posts related to this but no luck. Everytime I'm about to start my truck my key won't turn unless i move my steering left and right like 100 times. Has this happen to anyone? How would I fix that?

When you paark your truck, do you leave the steering wheel centered or turn to one side or the other. If it's not centered, it will lock in to position and you will have to rock the wheel side to side to get the key to turn.

Is it an original key, or a copied key?

If you have any other keys, try using one of them and see if it still does it. If it does not do it anymore, then it is probably due to your key pretty well worn, which can usually be attributed to keeping too many keys on the same key ring as your trucks keys. If it still is hard to get the key to turn with a different key, then odds are that it is a problem with the steering lock on the ignition lock assembly. If that is the case, then the only way replace it is to replace the while ignition switch/lock cylinder assembly. It might possibly be something wrong in the column, but odds are on the lock assembly. Trya different key first though and see iff it still does it.

Alright, good news! It is the key. I guess my old one is a bit worn out. Where can I get an extra spare? The Dealership? I have an XE with manual windows and locks so is my key has a chip in it? If not can i just get a spare blank from ebay and get it copied at home depot?

What year is your truck? Odds are being that it is an XE, it is not a chipped key. But, I have seen some that are, and if the dealer looks it up in the catalog, it will show it to be regardless. I don't know why, but every key I have looked up on XE, it shows it to be a chipped key even if it is not. Does your truck have the security light that flashes after you turn it off, or lock the truck? If it does not, then the odds of it not being chipped just went up. If it's not chipped you can get a key cut anywhere, but if it is chipped you'll have to do it at the dealer. The chipped key's usually run $20-25 depending on what mark up the dealer has, and they usually charge 1/2 hour labor to program it, which is $45 at the dealer I work at.

Cheaper solution. Since the chip only needs to be "near" the ignition you can make a cheap copy anywhere and tape the chipped key under the dash. Chip is in the proximity and the new unchipped (and much cheaper) key will work just fine.
