OK, IVE HEARD FROM 2 PEOPLE THAT THE NISSAN TITAN MOTOR IS MADE BY FORD, IVE ASKED AROUND AND EVERYONE SAYS ITS MADE BY NISSAN. I NEED THIS CLARIFIED BECASUE ITS MAKING ME CRAZY, I REALLY HOPE ITS NOT MADE BY FORD.
Exactly why would they have given away a better engine to the competition. LOL someone is pulling your chain. Make sure you tug back.swarren1 said:Design by Nissan in California and built at the Nissan Dechard, TN engine plant.
Think about it. If Ford had designed it, they would have kept it for their 2004 F150 revamp, and sold Nissan the power challenged Triton.
Nissan has a great history of engine designs, and would have no need to buy from Ford.

WHY WOULD PEOPLE SAY SUCH MEAN THINGS IS BEYOND ME.
Here is more evidence for your "friends". They probably believe you anyway but just enjoy your reaction.JERSTITAN said:I NEED SOLID EVIDENCE TO SHOW THESE NUTSACKS THAT THE TITAN MOTOR WAS MADE BY NISSAN ENGINEERS AND NOT FORDS.

Below is a more technical article that covers our engine, from Automotive Industries - Issue: July 2003 "David vs. Goliath - Part I" Nissan Titan by Don Shermanswarren1 said:Here is more evidence for your "friends". Look at the sentence just above "Model Lineup"

“At Nissan's engine plant in Decherd, Tennessee, employees assemble engines and transaxles. In July 2000, Nissan announced plans to expand the Decherd plant to add engine machining and assembly for the production of V6 and V8 engines. The expansion will add more than 500,000 square feet to the 230,000-square-foot plant.”
It's the number one selling truck with who? Certainly not me -- I've never owned one. I guess if "Corporate Ford" wants the consumer to believe they're #1 and people buy into that assertion -- more power to 'em! I make my own decisions. Still own a Dodge pick-up, had a Durango as well. They both performed great -- one still does!TitanCritter said:why don't you all tell us how you really feel about ford.....
i agree, they have some issues, but they make a good truck. number one selling truck for years. if there were no titan, i'd be driving a ford f150.
Actually Ford built the van for Nissan using Nissan engine and trans. In the drivers door opening the sticker says built by the Ford Motor Company for Nissan Motors LTD. I've owned a 1997, a 1999 and still own a 2002. All three never gave me any problems. No sqeaks , rattles or other annoyances.ModlessG said:Yes but Nissan built the van not ford. The Titan engine was designed from the 3.5 liter Z motor. It is a very precise well fitted engine. Dosnt really equate with what Ford produces. I have heard Fords next big recall is the 4.6 and 5.4 engine. The 3 valve head has some compression loss in some engines as much as 10% lower hp output than the better running ones. With Ford its kinda luck of the draw. Do I get a good one or a pos. So far My Nissan has been very good. Expecially for a first year design its a gem.
